Where is Indiana University basketball right now?

Through ten games, the Hoosiers have found themselves victorious eight times, the most recent being tonight’s 88-54 obliteration of outmatched SIU-Edwardsville at Assembly Hall.

And although there’s little doubt that we’ve learned far more about IU’s basketball team in the two losses, it’s possible that the most recent victory gave us some insight into this team’s component parts --- and valuable insight at that.

Well, that certainly didn’t take long.

In fewer than ten days, Indiana football went from being a directionless program with a lame duck coach, to a team on the upswing with a hot new coach and no line on the horizon.

Hoosiers Upset Nebraska at Home

Quietly, the IU women's basketball team has been solid in the early going.

The Hoosiers picked up their fifth and most important win of the season, defeating No. 19 Nebraska 67-61 in front of a somber crowd Sunday at Assembly Hall.

It was a very close game until the buzzer sounded.

“This team here, resiliency is the word that comes to mind,” IU coach Felisha Legette-Jack said.

Hoosier Basketball Reeling In Talented In-State Recruits

IU basketball has a bright future ahead of itself due to the major in-state recruits coming in the next few years.Head coach Tom Crean has proved that the best way to recruit is to get the major talents in Indiana.

After, Cody Zeller signed his Letter of Intent to play at Indiana, more recruits committed to be a part of the new era of IU basketball mixed with the traditional:Where basketball is dominant and over 17,000 fans come into Assembly Hall each game expecting a win.

I see sell-outs for every game starting next year because of the major signing of Zeller.

Will IU Continue Culture of Mediocrity?

It’s never pleasant to admit that change is needed, but the need for a change finally became too hard to ignore.

Bill Lynch treated his players well, and none of his shortcomings as a coach could be attributed to a lack of humanity or decency. At the very least, he deserves thanks for representing Indiana University with class and dignity.

The Big Question for Fred Glass and IU Football: Who's Next?

So what now for the IU football program? Following IU’s first win in West Lafayette in 14 years, Athletic Director Fred Glass announced that head football coach Bill Lynch will not be on the sidelines next year for the Hoosiers.  It was a move that everyone saw coming following the embarrassing losses, including losing by 63 to Wisconsin on the road, as well as the close losses to Michigan, Iowa, and Northwestern at home.
