After each game, Hank Glassner will provide his short, concise thoughts on the Indiana Hoosiers basketball team.
- What is there to say about the Hoosiers’ first half? Sloppy. Lackadaisical. Uninterested. No energy. I believe their poor play was the result of a few things:1) They were looking forward to Kentucky by overlooking this game
2) They were bound for a letdown after their solid win over North Carolina State
3) It is hard to get pumped up for a team like StetsonYeah, that’s basically all that needs to be said.
- For the reasoning mentioned above, it was obvious why Coach Crean started out the second half with Daniel Moore, Will Sheehey, and Derek Elston in the game. He had to send a message to some starters that their effort in the previous twenty minutes of basketball was not to be tolerated.
- I will gladly take 50 points in the paint and 30 points off of turnovers, though.
- There were some nice alley-oops to Zeller, Oladipo, and even Pritchard. The ball movement against Stetson’s zone defense was pretty good for the most part. They were not complacent and stagnant; rather they were quick and decisive, and their movement off the ball was impressive to watch as well.
- Speaking of being quick, Austin Etherington needs to improve his quickness. Vastly.
- I need to say that Adam Pegg, the big man on Stetson pictured above, had the UGLIEST tattoo on his shoulder that makes Mike Tyson’s face tattoo look like he is God’s angel.
- Looking forward to Kentucky, an interesting matchup to watch will be to see who guards Cody Zeller. Will it be the long, future #1 draft pick Anthony Davis? Or will it be Terrence Jones? I would put my money on Davis.
- IU needs to keep their rebounding total close with Kentucky’s. If they can, they have a chance. If they can’t, then we might see the number one team in the country dismantle the Hoosiers.
That’s it from me. Until next time…
